The event is part of a series entitled, Alternative Energy Evenings, sponsored by the Merrimack County Conservation District as part of the New Hampshire Farm Energy Initiative. Globe 2010 March 24-26, 2010, Vancouver Convention Center - East, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada BERC Program Director Adam Sherman will moderate a session entitled, 'Bioenergy: Fueling the Development of a Low Carbon Economy.' The panel discussion will focus on bioenergy at the community and municipal level. Generating Rural Innovation and Regional Partnership: The 2010 Northeast Rural Convening April 12-13, 2010, Hilton Hotel, Burlington, Vermont BERC Policy and Development Director Andrea Colnes will speak on the Energy Research panel about the potential for sustainable community-scale biomass energy as a key element of a rural develoment strategy for the US Northeast. The event is held by Partners for Rural America. 3rd Annual Biomass Supply Chain ConferenceApril 15-16, 2010, Omni Severin Hotel, Indianapolis, Indiana BERC Program Director Adam Sherman will moderate and make a presentation as part of the Supply Chain Success Stories panel discussion. The conference provides a forum for those involved in the alternative energy industry to come together to discuss all aspects of establishing, maintaining, and enhancing a biomass supply chain. BERC is also a co-sponsor of the event. Vermont State Science and Mathematics FairApril 17, 2010, Norwich University, Norwich, Vermont BERC Program Director Kamalesh Doshi will serve as a judge in this statewide student competition where aspiring scientists and their teachers will showcase the results of their scientific inquiry. Smallwood 2010 Conference: Bridges, Business and Biomass April 20-22, 2010, Arlington Resort Hotel and Spa, Hot Springs, Arkansas BERC is a gold sponsor of this biennial event that will provide state-of-the-art information on small-tree utilization and foster peer-to-peer learning. Enormous quantities of woody biomass are being generated from thinning operations, land clearing, and hurricane disasters. These issues drive the need to create solutions for using low-value and waste wood.
